In 1936, as a result of planned blasting operations, significant volumes of water began to flow from underground. The quarry was completely flooded in just 30 minutes. The organizers of the relevant work even had the impression that some invisible force was holding the set level. In the end, the water drainage work stopped.

Rumor has it that the Germans, taking into account all the positive properties of the water in Lake Sribne, placed a military hospital near it, where wounded soldiers were rehabilitated and recovered quickly. Another fact is interesting. According to it, the Nazi invaders, taking into account the specifics of the water, transported the healing composition to Germany in tanks and whole echelons. According to the locals, bathing in Sribne can have a beneficial effect on the human skin, as well as restore joints and relieve back pain.

If you are planning a trip to the lake from Kropyvnytskyi, you need to focus on Oleksandriia, then turn towards Pryiutivka, Protopivka. You can follow the road signs to Poltava. After leaving Oleksandriia, you should pay attention to the crossroads, where you should make a left turn and go straight through the local church and cemetery. Once you reach Pryiutivka, you need to drive a few more minutes along the main road to Protopopivka. Moving past the railway bridge and a mini-market, you will have to reach a park with a stele. Further on, you will find a tractor parking lot, asphalt and dirt roads that lead directly to the lake.

It is only a few minutes' walk from the lake to the Korystivka railway station. From there, suburban trains will take you to the regional center. If you are heading to Sribne Lake by car, it is recommended to follow the GPS coordinates 48.7385°, 33.0029, going through Voynivka and Protopopivka. If you follow the highway E50, H08, T1203 from Dnipro, you will have to cover a distance of 200 kilometers, which will take an average of 3-4 hours. A good alternative is to use regular buses that depart regularly from Kropyvnytskyi, Kryvyi Rih, Zaporizhzhia, and Kyiv.
